General

Who is Rigden Capital Strategies?
Rigden Capital Strategies is an independent, fee-only registered investment advisor headquartered at 384 Inverness Parkway, Suite 240, Englewood, Colorado 80112, in the South Denver metro. We provide financial planning and investment management to individuals, families, and business owners locally and throughout the United States. Our team includes CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, an Enrolled Agent, and other credentialed professionals. Our services, fees, and conflicts of interest are described in our Form ADV and Form CRS.
Why Rigden Capital Strategies?
Clients come to us for advice that is not tied to product commissions. As fiduciaries, we are required to act in your best interest. We offer transparent, client-paid pricing, financial plans that integrate retirement, tax, estate, and investment considerations, and advice that reflects your lifestyle, family priorities, and long-term goals. No advisory model eliminates conflicts of interest entirely; ours are identified, disclosed, and managed, and are described in our Form ADV Part 2A.
What makes Rigden Capital Strategies different from other firms?
We are fee-only: we do not sell investment products or accept commissions, and our compensation comes from clients. Each plan is tailored to your goals. Our portfolios combine low-cost index exposure with measured adjustments based on market conditions and client circumstances; those adjustments may help manage risk or pursue opportunities, but they can also underperform a static approach and do not prevent losses. We focus on business transitions, legacy design, and multi-generational planning, and we maintain a low client-to-advisor ratio.
What is your mission?
To deliver tailored, fiduciary wealth strategies that help clients pursue clarity, confidence, and control over their financial lives — aligning each recommendation with your goals rather than product sales or commissions.
What services does Rigden Capital Strategies offer?
Comprehensive, fiduciary-based wealth management that integrates financial planning, custom investment management, tax strategy, real estate guidance, and small business retirement solutions. Each engagement is personalized to your goals and situation.

Our advisors hold designations including CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®), and Registered Social Security Analyst™ (RSSA®). Together these credentials reflect deep expertise across planning, investment management, and retirement income.
Where is the team located?
Our headquarters is at 384 Inverness Parkway, Suite 240, Englewood, Colorado 80112, with additional advisors located in South Carolina and Pennsylvania. We serve clients in most U.S. states — subject to applicable registration and notice-filing requirements — through secure video meetings.

We intentionally maintain a low client-to-advisor ratio so each relationship gets focused, personalized attention and a true long-term partnership.

Client Access and Login

How do I log in to my client portal?
Use the Client Login link in the top navigation to access your secure portal. You'll find your financial plan, performance reporting, document vault, and scheduling tools in one place.
Is the client portal secure?
We use encrypted document sharing, multi-factor authentication on client-facing systems, encrypted video conferencing, and access controls that limit client data to the team members who need it. No system can be guaranteed completely secure; please do not send sensitive documents by email.
How do I share documents securely?
Upload sensitive documents directly through the encrypted document vault in your client portal — never via email. If you need help, your advisor can send you a secure upload link.
What if I forget my password?
Use the password-reset link on the login page, or contact your advisor and we'll help you regain access quickly.

Fiduciary and Client Process

Are you a fiduciary?
Yes. Rigden Capital Strategies is a fiduciary, fee-only, and independent registered investment advisor, and we are required to act in your best interest. Our conflicts of interest and how we manage them are disclosed in our Form ADV Part 2A.
What does the planning process look like?
It's a six-step engagement: (1) set framework, (2) gather information, (3) develop plan, (4) deliver recommendations, (5) implement, and (6) ongoing monitor and calibrate.
How do I get started?
Schedule a complimentary consultation through our Contact page. We'll use the time to understand your goals, answer your questions, and determine if there's a good fit.
How often will we meet once I'm a client?
Ongoing clients typically meet with their advisor multiple times per year, with additional check-ins around tax season, life events, and market shifts. You always have direct access to your advisor in between scheduled meetings.

Fees and Compensation

Is Rigden Capital Strategies fee-only?
Yes. We are fee-only: our compensation comes solely from client-paid advisory fees, not commissions or product sales. Our fees — and other costs you may pay, such as custodian, fund, and transaction expenses — are disclosed in our advisory agreement and regulatory documents before an engagement begins.
How are you compensated?
Our compensation comes solely from advisory fees agreed upon with you. We do not earn commissions and we do not sell financial products, including insurance. When an insurance need is identified, we may coordinate with independent licensed insurance professionals, and you are never required to use any particular professional.
What is your fee schedule?
For our AUM service, our fee schedule begins at 1.10% and steps down by tier. See the Pricing page for full breakpoints and standalone planning options.
Do you have an investment minimum?
We work with clients across a range of asset levels, though most of our wealth-management clients have $500K or more in investable assets. Standalone planning engagements have no minimum.

Investments and Custody

Where are my assets held?
Client assets are held with an independent, third-party custodian. We never take custody of your funds — we only have discretionary authority to manage and trade per your investment policy.
What is your investment philosophy?
We blend low-cost, broadly diversified index exposure with tactical adjustments based on valuation, market conditions, and your specific goals. Discipline and risk management come first, followed by tax efficiency and opportunistic positioning.
Do you use mutual funds, ETFs, or individual securities?
We primarily use ETFs and select mutual funds for core exposure, supplemented by individual securities or alternatives when appropriate for the client's situation.
How do you manage risk?
Each portfolio is built to an investment policy statement aligned with your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. We monitor exposures continuously and rebalance with attention to tax impact.

Planning Strategies

What does comprehensive financial planning include?
Cash flow and budgeting, retirement income planning, tax strategy, insurance and risk planning, estate and legacy design, education funding, and coordination with your CPA and attorney — all integrated into one cohesive plan.
Do you handle retirement income planning?
Yes. We model distribution strategies that evaluate Social Security claiming alternatives, tax-aware withdrawal sequencing, Roth conversion analysis, and Medicare and IRMAA considerations, and stress-test them against a range of market and longevity scenarios.
Can you coordinate with my CPA and attorney?
Absolutely. We routinely collaborate with our clients' CPAs and estate attorneys so tax filings, entity structures, and estate documents align with the financial plan.
Do you offer one-time financial plans?
Yes. In addition to ongoing wealth management we offer standalone planning engagements for clients who want a written plan without ongoing investment management.

Portfolio Strategies

How are portfolios constructed?
Portfolios start with a strategic asset allocation tailored to your plan. We layer in tactical tilts informed by valuation and macro signals, and we customize for tax location, concentrated positions, and ESG preferences when relevant.
How is tax efficiency built into the portfolio?
We use asset-location strategies (tax-efficient assets in taxable accounts, tax-inefficient assets in IRAs), tax-loss harvesting, careful turnover management, and Roth conversion analysis around realized income.
How often do you rebalance?
Rebalancing is rules-based and event-driven rather than calendar-based — we act when allocations drift outside set tolerances or when tax-loss harvesting opportunities arise.
Do you offer ESG or values-based investing?
Yes. We can customize portfolios to reflect values-based screens or ESG mandates while keeping diversification, cost, and risk discipline intact.

Real Estate Strategies

Do you advise on real estate as part of wealth planning?
Yes. Many of our clients own rental, commercial, or vacation real estate. We help integrate those holdings into the broader plan — evaluating cash flow, leverage, concentration, tax considerations, and exit alternatives — in coordination with your CPA.
Can you help with 1031 exchanges?
We evaluate how a potential exchange fits within your financial plan and coordinate with your qualified intermediary, CPA, and attorney. Rigden Capital does not serve as the qualified intermediary and does not provide legal or tax advice.
How do you think about real estate vs. liquid investments?
Real estate can deliver income, leverage, and tax advantages, but also illiquidity and concentration. We model your total exposure so the real estate book complements — rather than crowds out — your liquid portfolio.

Small Business Strategies

Do you work with small business owners?
Yes — business owners are a core focus. We help owners evaluate retirement-plan options, model the financial impact of entity and compensation alternatives, advise on how key-person and buy-sell arrangements fit the personal plan, and coordinate succession or sale planning with the owner's CPA and attorney.
What retirement plans do you set up for businesses?
We help owners evaluate options — SEP-IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs, Solo 401(k)s, traditional and Safe Harbor 401(k)s, and cash-balance or defined-benefit plans — and coordinate implementation with the appropriate recordkeeper, third-party administrator, custodian, CPA, and ERISA counsel. We do not serve as plan administrator or recordkeeper.
Can you help me sell my business?
We help owners prepare financially for a sale — modeling net-of-tax proceeds under different structures, coordinating with your attorney and CPA, who advise on and document deal terms, and building the post-sale wealth plan.
Do you help with business succession?
Yes. We model family or partner succession alternatives, including gifting plans, buy-sell funding, and multi-year transition timelines, and coordinate with your attorney and CPA. This work supports the business and the family's long-term planning; outcomes depend on implementation and circumstances.

Advanced Planning

What is advanced retirement planning?
It's the disciplined modeling of withdrawal sequencing, Roth conversions, Social Security timing, Medicare and IRMAA, and tax-bracket management to seek tax-efficient lifetime income — not just account balances. Projections rely on assumptions that will differ from actual results.
What is advanced tax planning?
Proactive, multi-year tax analysis — including Roth conversions, capital-gains harvesting, charitable bunching, donor-advised funds, qualified small business stock (QSBS), and entity-level considerations — intended to identify opportunities to improve after-tax outcomes over time rather than focus on a single year. Results depend on implementation, changing law, and your individual situation; we are not a law or accounting firm and coordinate with your tax professional.
Do you help with estate and legacy planning?
Yes. We help identify estate-planning considerations and model their financial impact — beneficiary design, gifting capacity, trust funding, and liquidity — then coordinate with an estate-planning attorney who prepares and advises on the legal documents.
Do you help with charitable giving?
Yes. We evaluate giving approaches such as donor-advised funds, qualified charitable distributions (QCDs), appreciated-stock gifts, and charitable trusts, and coordinate with your CPA and attorney on implementation.
